While highly accurate, this simulator has technical limitations compared to real-world trading:
- Market Taker Execution: The tracker does not place resting Maker orders. It acts as a bot watching the live Ask/Bid, executing a "Limit Order" to take liquidity the moment your exact conditions are met.
- Zero Slippage Assumption: The system assumes infinite liquidity at the exact trigger price. If you buy at $0.30, it simulates getting all shares at exactly $0.30. In reality, large budgets might eat through the order book and experience slippage.
- Exact Budgeting: Shares are bought in whole numbers based on the actual hit price. A $5 budget hitting at $0.30 buys exactly 16 shares ($4.80 cost), leaving the remaining $0.20 unspent.
- API Latency: Extreme market volatility might cause the Polymarket WebSocket to skip micro-updates. Real execution might miss a fleeting price that the simulator caught, or vice versa.
- Live Price Display: The prominent live price shown on the tracker is the Ask price (the cost to enter a position). Exiting a position (Take Profit, Stop Loss, Time Exit) relies strictly on the background Bid price. If the displayed price hits your target but your position doesn't sell, it means the Bid price hasn't reached that level yet due to market spread.
